ECHILD Welcomes ADR UK Research Fellows to Explore Education and Child Health Outcomes
We are excited to welcome ADR UK Research Fellows, who will be using ECHILD data over the next 18 months to explore the links between children’s health and education. Their research will generate valuable insights that could help shape policies and improve support for children and young people.
Each fellow will investigate key policy-relevant questions for the public benefit, from the impact of paediatric brain injuries on education to how maternal mental health influences children’s outcomes. By making use of the ECHILD database, their work will provide new evidence to support decision-making across education, health, and social care.
The fellows are:
Hope Kent (University of Exeter) – Educational outcomes after paediatric brain injuries
Justin Yang (University College London) – Health-related outcomes and school exclusion in neurodivergent pupils
Hanna Creese (Imperial College London) – Mental and physical health contributions to school absence inequalities
Xingna Zhang (University of Liverpool) – Autism diagnosis impact on health and education outcomes
Amanda Mason-Jones (University of York) – Maternal mental health and its effects on children’s outcomes
Simona Skripkauskaite (University of Oxford) – Pathways through support services for neurodivergent children
Yasmin Ahmadzadeh (King’s College London) – Women’s mental illness in pregnancy and children’s outcomes
We look forward to seeing the impact of their research and how their findings contribute to real-world improvements for children and families.
